Thomas Merritt is a Smithville, GA. native with the dedication and drive to lead. Thomas started playing guitar at 9 years old. At age 12, he began live performance in church and continued to lead worship until age 16. After learning that this could be a job, he began to perform locally at restaurants and pubs in the area. Some years later, Thomas and soon to be band mate Carter Cross, established the southern rock group “Split Creek” in 2012. After 3 years, Thomas left the band and returned to a solo act. At 23 he decided to devote himself to his music, collaborating with Kaven Williams at Seventh High Entertainment. Kaven helped to build what would soon be known as The Thomas Merritt Band.
